Vera and I have been geocaching for a couple of years now. Check out their web site if you want to understand it: Geocaching. Anyway, one of the challenges that the Utah Geocachers put up was Cache Across Utah, where you're supposed to find a cache in all 29 Utah counties. Well, Vera and I have been working at it and we were down to just needing one county, San Juan, down in the Southeast corner of the state.
I had the day after Christmas off for vacation, so we decided to go down to Blanding and get our last county. And while we were down in the area, we decided to swing through New Mexico and Colorado and pick up a couple of extra states. Since it had snowed on Friday morning and I had been out snowblowing all morning, we didn't get away until the afternoon. So we drove down to Cortez, Colorado, and spent the night there. Boy was it cold. It got down to about 4° during the night.
Saturday morning, we headed over to Dolores, Colorado, about 10 miles away, and picked up a cache there. Then we drove down to Shiprock, New Mexico, and found a cache there. Next, since we were close by, we went over to the Four Corners Monument. Vera just had to have some fry bread, even though it was only about 20° and the wind was blowing.
After that, we headed up to Blanding and got our final county. Then we headed home. However, since it was late on Saturday, we stopped for the night in Moab. Then home. It was a fun trip, but we were sure grateful that we took the Durango. There was a lot of snow on the roads and it just went right through all of it.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas. I hope everybody has as fun a Christmas as I have. It's always best when you can watch the little ones open Christmas presents. They really enjoy it.
And I did really good this Christmas getting presents for my lovely wife. I got her a snow globe with a key and a heart that plays "Love Me Tender. I had it engraved with:
My soul mate
For all eternity
I also got her a picture tree with 10 pictures on it. I put pictures of her, Jess, Melissa, Maren, Brichette, Joey, Xander, Zack, Carol, and me in the little ornaments. I had it engraved with:
Some girls have all the luck!
She really liked them both.

Halloween
Well, my daughter and her husband were supposed to come over this weekend and spend the weekend with us. However, they just got a new house, so they won't be able to make it. We're going to have the Halloween party tomorrow night anyway because that's when we told everybody the party was going to be. I'm so sad that they're not coming, but I'm happy for them because they got a new house.
